Everybody has their own pet peeves. Things that just "grind their gears". Like most of you I have many of them, be it a hole in a drinking straw (arrg!) or watching people text message while walking down the hall. There is one pet peeve of mine that just enrages me. Makes me clench my fists and red in the face. To me, it's unforgivable.
Would you hang a Van Gogh upside down?
I hope not.
Would you watch a movie in reverse?
Maybe on phsychedelics.
Then why would you put your headphones on backwards?!
They put the L and R on each headphone indicating which ear they go in. I've noticed most people don't take the 2 seconds to check. This is audio blasphemy. Jimi Hendrix would be rolling in his grave if he knew anyone was listening to his epic guitar solo's in a way they wern't meant to be. John Bonham would probably just slap you. Alot of work goes into the production of any musical work (or audio for film, etc etc.) and it is designed to be heard in a specific way.
So people, take a quick second. Check your headphones before you put them on.
L= Left R=Right

An Epic Journey

Haven't updated this in awhile. The semester got very busy very quick. I've been spending a better portion of my time in the Audio Research studio working on projects for my independent study and helping audio engineer Dave Grant with the short film Inside Charlie. Check out the website here.
The first photoshop assignment is coming along quite nicely. It's been pretty fun messing with my own image. I've always wanted to go crazy with tattoo's but getting this many is a little extreme for me. The next image is exactly what I would do if I could grow more arms. Here's where I'm at so far:

Data.Body| Journal Week 1
After 21 years you'd think there would be more to write about yourself.
I'm originally from way up north in Fort McMurray, AB, which is not something I usually admit to. I consider myself an oil refugee, one of the few that escaped the powerful temptation of easy money and a solid career.
While I'm not labouring away on class projects I play guitar in a post-hardcore band called ReVera.
I chose the New Media program here at the University of Lethbridge to further my skills in graphic and web design. My previous aspirations in Audio design and engineering have caught up with me and have now become my focus of attention. I've been involved with the universities Audio Research Laboratory since it's construction three years ago. I participated in the setup of hardware and software and actively persue various projects and research in the facilities. My career goals are centered around audio design.
Favorite Films:
Donnie Darko
Indiana Jones Trilogy
Crossroads
Favorite Books:
Catcher in the Rye - J.D Salinger
1984 - George Orwell
